SONNET Power Guide: Unlocking the transformative power of social innovations in energy

Date 25 May, 2022

When it comes to speeding up the energy transition (and other transitions), power is often the elephant in the room. We know it’s needed for change, but talking about it often make us feel uncomfortable.

Download the SONNET Power Guide now, to enjoy this unique, practical and research-based guide full of  exercises. With it, you can put power at the center of your work and unlock the full potential of your social innovation to speed up the energy transition.

The power guide helps you to navigate uncomfortable conversations and to understand power in your social innovation. It contains an introduction to the theory on how social innovation can challenge, alter and replace existing power relations in energy.

Still struggling how to picture different social innovations in the energy transition? No worries, you can also find 6 examples for different fields of social innovation with easy examples.

Additionally, the guide introduces different theoretical lenses through which power can be seen – such as ‘power to, power over, power with’ and the concept of transformative power. To give this some body, there are instructions for seven exercises that you can try out. These exercises were developed together with practitioners, activists and researchers in the SONNET research project.

Interested, but not in a reading mood? Then you are in luck – there are also 7 mini videos in which Tessa de Geus and Flor Avelino dive into the why and how behind the exercises.  You can find the playlist below or by clicking here.
