Mara de Pater Researcher & Advisor

At DRIFT, Mara works on a broad spectrum of themes and projects, using her interdisciplinary background to address problems analytically and holistically.

She has studied Environmental Science in Wageningen (BSc & MSc), specialising in environmental policy and international politcs, and also finished an MSc in Cultural Anthropology with Utrecht University. For both masters, Mara conducted research in the Netherlands and abroad (in the US and Hungary among other places) focusing on (de-)democratisation and climate policy.

For a number of years, Mara has also been fighting for a cleaner and fairer international travel sector with her organsiation Youth for Sustainable Travel. She also likes to go sailing, biking, walking and camping.
