PROSEU E-workshop: Designing Inclusive Energy Futures
29 apr, 2020
Are you interested in the inclusiveness of collective energy production and consumption? Do you want to learn more on energy inclusiveness, discuss your practical challenges or share your knowledge with peers & experts in the field? Apply before Thursday April 23, 2020 and get the chance to win a wildcard for the PROSEU e-workshop on the future of energy inclusiveness.
The association Eco-union and DRIFT are organising an international workshop on the futures of energy inclusiveness for prosumers – actors who both produce and consume energy. Energy cooperatives, energy communities, local governments or other not-for-profit organisations have the potential to thrive by including communities and local citizens. However, this is not an easy task and there are also exclusionary tendencies to detect.
In this workshop a selected and international group of practitioners and policymakers are brought together to discuss topics like energy poverty, energy commons, energy & gender, energy literacy and the inclusiveness of organisational models. This will all take place in a highly interactive setting, in which discussions will be supported by innovative methodologies, like backcasting and visioning. You can expect an inspirational session with critical thinking and mutual learning, and insights that provide perspective and leverage to push for more inclusive energy futures all over Europe!
Aim & Key audience
The workshop is is part of the EU-funded Horizon 2020 PROSEU project and designed for practitioners, policy makers and government representatives. The aim of the session is to build a roadmap for 2030: where do we want the future of energy inclusiveness to go and what obstacles need to be overcome to get there? We anticipate on linking these insights to the national implementation process of the Renewable Energy Directive legislation, which is taking shape across Europe in 2020. Questions that will be discussed include:
- What does a desirable energy future look like for prosumers? Who will benefit, and who runs the risk to be left behind?
- Which (structural, social, economic, educational, etc.) conditions need to change in order to get there?
- Which role can energy communities, energy agencies, NGOs, local governments or intermediate organisations play?
