Composting conflict: a BIONEXT zine and in-depth case studies

Date 30 Apr, 2013

This is a zine for you… if you’re involved in fundamental change for nature! Click here to read the zine (placeholder) and find the in-depth case-studies here: Netherlands, Belgium and Finland (currently placeholders).

There’s plenty of conflict in the transition to a nature-positive society. Dealing with conflict is like turning a compost heap: it creates heat which breaks down the scraps of injustice to create a superb substance with which you can grow something new. Without heat, nothing transforms – and the rot leaks out in more dangerous ways.

The zine and the accompanying in-depth case studies will be published late April 2026.

A BIONEXT zine
This zine and the accompanying in-depth case studies are part of BIONEXT: a research and innovation project that fights for nature and biodiversity. The project has 10 partners, including DRIFT, and is coordinated by the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke).

Funding
This work was co-funded by the European Union and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) under the UK government’s Horizon Europe funding guarantee.
