Tjeu van Bussel Researcher & Advisor

vanbussel@drift.eur.nl

Tjeu’s expertise lies in working with a design approach which includes complexity. With a creative, hands-on mindset, he works on gathering knowledge by making connections. This could involve building bridges between people, government, communities, or between local knowledge and academic knowledge. His experience lies in designing processes and experiments that allow different perspectives to participate, exchange experiences, and share knowledge around specific topics to make collective progress.

Tjeu completed both his BSc and MSc in Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology, specializing in using design for research. Before joining Drift, he worked as a social designer on societal issues, focusing on designing processes that bring people, systems, and their environments together around topics such as urban planning, mobility, and mental wellbeing.

In his spare time, Tjeu enjoys getting his hands dirty in a workshop he shares with friends, where he works on woodworking and interactive electronics/art projects. He is also an active member of the bouldering community, and during the colder months, he is an avid film-goer.
