Sanne supports the Transition Academy of DRIFT. She primarily focuses on coordinating the open programs and ensures that participation in our education is a pleasant and impactful experience.
Sanne has a background in sustainability, (international) politics, and philosophy. She earned her bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences at Leiden University College in The Hague. She then moved to Norway to complete a master's degree in Development, Environment, and Cultural Change at the University of Oslo. These studies made her realize that issues like the climate crisis and global inequality require fundamental societal change. Sanne has a strong interest in the role of education as a driver of sustainability transitions. Previously, she wrote articles on this topic for Leren voor Morgen ('Learning for Tomorrow') and was involved in developing a lesson program on climate change for vocational students.
In addition to her work at DRIFT, Sanne volunteers for nature and biodiversity with the Young Climate Movement. During her vacations, she enjoys long hikes in the mountains with her tent on her back.
