Chris is part of the communications team at DRIFT together with Wouter. She's a visual anthropologist with an interest in identity and urbanisation. She lived in London for two years and did her master research on the relationship that migrants have with nature in a community garden in Loughborough Junction. The visual thesis that resulted revolved around nostalgia, poetry and 'rooting'.

After finishing her bachelor's and master's degree at the UvA, she worked as an independent filmmaker on a project about church choirs from different cultures and religions in Amsterdam, and a project about social services imposing peer-mentors to vulnerable youth. During this period, she also found an interest in sustainable food culture and ran a vegan catering business called The Local Squeeze. From making food rolled over into sustainable food production and became community manager at Voedselstation, a start-up in Culemborg. This shared food production space was home to many social enterprises that focused on circularity, increasing biodiversity, and working together with local producers.

After work she goes dancing or ferments fruits and vegetables, or you can find her at the queer gym in Amsterdam.
